Career Opportunity – Hydraulic Operator Technician

We are a privately owned manufacturer located in Attleboro, MA since 1920. We manufacture small to medium sized metal stampings for the automotive, appliance, industrial appliance, safety and other markets.

The Hydraulic Technician assists production with diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a series of hydraulic press lines. This individual will be working with a team of existing technicians and operators to identify the corrective action required, whether rebuilding cylinders, replacing valves, or welding hydraulic pipes, etc. Our team of electricians, specializing in PLC programming, will also provide support to this position during times of troubleshooting. This position will also complete preventative maintenance activities to support the production areas. Work hours are from 5AM – 1:30PM, Mon-Fri. Mandatory OT during the week and on Saturdays is likely. Daily overtime time pay is available. Saturdays are automatically paid at OT rate. Must have the ability to be forklift certified. Experience working with hydraulic equipment required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate computer-controlled hydraulic press systems; diagnose and fix automation problems; perform tool maintenance to keep press lines operating.
  • Install and adjust tooling and associated components in press lines to also include setting feeds and coil handling equipment.
  • Prepare and fill out documentation, forms and records related to running production orders.
  • Measure, and gage parts using a micrometer, vernier, ruler, and computerized measuring equipment as needed.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Contribute to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.
  • Assist with the upkeep of  supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders by researching and anticipating needed components. Initiates requisitions to acquire necessary items with approval from supervisor
  • Install new or repair/modify hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment as needed with supervision.
  • Complete projects with guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimize equipment down time and lost production capability.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required training program requirements.
  • Maintain equipment and area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
